Most young people want to travel, but almost no one tells you how to actually start — how to afford it, where to go, or what it’s really like to leave home for the first time. GoLookOutside exists to give you the advice I wish I had at 18: real steps, real guides, and real stories from someone who’s been exactly where you are now.
Everyone tells you to follow the safe path — university, career, settle down. But what if the best thing you can do in your teens and twenties is leave? GoLookOutside is your guide to breaking the script and seeing the world on your own terms.
Who Am I to Say What to do???
I’m Jack, and I started travelling straight after high school – not because I had life figured out, but for the exact opposite reason, I was lost. While everyone around me was stuck to their 9-5’s or studying, I booked a one-way ticket to Europe with a backpack and $10,000, with the hopes moving there and travel would help me understand who I am. After living in Europe for almost 5 years, and visiting over 20 countries, I can say this: travel didn’t fix all of life’s problems, but it taught me to trust myself, be myself, make decisions and build a life… all on my own.

Why Travel When you’re Young?
It is quite simple: Travelling teaches you things academics can’t.
There are feelings, situations and lessons that can only be experienced from travelling.
And in my opinion… there is no better time to experience all of this than when you’re young.
For the first 17-18 years of our lives we are stuck in the same routine – travelling breaks that. It gives us a sense of individuality and allows us to learn about ourselves. There are just some things you can’t learn at home.
Why is GoLookOutside Different?
When searching “travel for young adults” in Google, the entire first 3 pages of results are tours trying to sell you an “adventure”.
And as much as the itineraries on these tours may sound appealing, is it really an adventure if every hour of your day is planned out for you?
When trying to find travel tips for young adults wanting to go abroad, there really isn’t much information. And thats where GoLookOutside comes in.
At GoLookOutside, I want to encourage people to do it on their own. To create their own adventure stories.
